Kasabian and Primal Scream have been announced as the headliners of Dublin’s urban festival Forbidden Fruit which will take place over the June bank holiday weekend (June 1 and 2). The festival, which is in its third year, announced its line-up yesterday afternoon via Twitter.

Crystal Castles, Lee Scratch Perry, Chic, James Black, Four Tet, Neon Neon, Everything Everything and Le Galaxie will also appear over the course of the now two-day festival, which is returning to its previous home of the grounds of IMMA/The Royal Hospital in Kilmainham.

Scottish veterans Primal Scream are set to release their new album, More Light, in May 2013, while Kasabian have toured  their 2011 album Velociraptor! globally in the last year. Chic return to Ireland after a successful headlining gig at last year’s Galway Arts Festival, while Crystal Castles released their third album last November.

Many other acts are to be added to the bill in the coming weeks, and the festival will also host a variety of comedy and art.

Forbidden Fruit promised an expansion to Cork and Galway last year, that was supposed to take place this summer but word of this is yet to be released.

The festival is  also returning to a two day festival, like in 2011, instead of 2012′s three days. Gigs will run over four stages.

A limited number number of early bird tickets were made available from 9am this morning and will cost €44.50 for day tickets and €79.50 for two days. General tickets are priced at €54.50 for one day and €99.50 for two days.
