The Daily Shift’s Jessica Thompson reports on the four bomb scares in Galway and Balinasloe last night…
Four bomb scares were reported in Galway and neighbouring regions last night.
The alarm was raised after what looked like a shoebox bomb was discovered in The Bentley. Gardaí evacuated the club immediately to investigate.
The Galway Advertiser kept the public up to date:
Similar bomb scares were reported in the Western Hotel nightclub in Claremorris, Co. Mayo, and Hayden’s Hotel in Ballinasloe, with hundreds evacuated by Gardaí.
The incidents were suspected to be a hoax early on in the night, but the nightclubs in question were evacuated for safety.
Fortunately all scares were reported to be hoaxes, as The Galway Advertiser reported last night, and punters were back in the nightclubs as soon as the all clear was given.
