The Daily Shift’s Denise O’Donoghue reports on Kristen Stewart’s apology following the announcement of her affair with director Rupert Sanders, who she met while filming Snow White and the Huntsman.
Kristin Stewart (22) has admitted cheating on her long-term boyfriend Robert Pattinson (26) with Rupert Sanders (41), the director of Snow White and the Huntsman. The young actress broken her silence on the rumour in a statement to People Magazine:
I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.
Allegations about the affair emerged Tuesday in US Weekly with the release of a photo of the pair embracing on the cover.
Sanders has also released a statement to People Magazine, apologising to his wife, Liberty Ross, and their two children, Skyla and Tennyson, for his extra-marital affair:
I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.
My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.
Moments before news of the affair broke Liberty Ross is said to have quoted Marilyn Monroe on Twitter:
Sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together.
She has since deleted her account on the social media site.
Stewart and Pattinson confirmed their relationship in early 2010, having started dating after meeting on the set of Twilight four years ago. The final film in the series, Breaking Dawn: Part 2 is due to be released this December.
There is no news on the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel, which is being made with both Stewart and Sanders involved in its production.
