The Daily Shift’s Denise O’Donoghue reports on Dáithí Ó’Sé’s recent wedding in Dingle.
Kerry’s most eligible bachelor has finally settled down. Dáithí Ó’Sé, one of Ireland’s most prolific Gaelgoirs, married his partner of four years Rita Talty in Dingle yesterday.
Crowds gathered outside St. Mary’s Church to cheer on the groom as he waited for the bridal party to arrive. As he left the crowd to enter the church he pardoned himself, saying:
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get married.
Ms. Talty kept no one waiting and arrived exactly at 2pm.
The bride wore a cream vintage lace dress, reminiscent of Kate Middleton’s famous wedding dress, while her bridesmaids wore black.
The wedding reception was held in the Carlton Hotel, a significant venue as it is where they first met four years ago when she was the New Jersey Rose at the Rose of Tralee Festival.
While the happy couple’s wedding pictures will be published in VIP Magazine, they still allowed their guests to take as many pictures as they wanted on the day. Otherwise, Dáithí, honest and straight to the point as always, announced:
People would think you’re full of shite.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Ó’Sé!
