The Countdown to Electric Picnic

Electric Picnic

The countdown to Electric Picnic has begun!

The countdown begins for the biggest music festival to hit Ireland this year. With 8 weeks to go, and with Oxegen out of the picture, Electric Picnic is taking centre stage this September. With world class headliners such as The Cure and The Killers, spoken word and comedy tents and an ever-amazing art trail, Electric Picnic is somewhat of a patchwork quilt of art and self expression and will no doubt amaze us yet again this year -perhaps even more so, as it has stepped up to the responsibility of being the biggest music festival of the year.

August 31st until September 2nd will see Stradbally estate, Co.Laois turn into the creative hub that is Electric Picnic, until it finishes up for another year. With circuses, yoga, holistics, art (in its MANY forms), comedy, children’s activities, film, and plenty more, EP isn’t your average music festival, in fact, calling it a music festival is not enough. ‘Music and arts’ surely encapsulates, but doesn’t quite showcase the array of activities and goings on at the festival in its entirety.

Problematic it may seem, to experience the festival in full? Too many bands to see, and things to get involved in over three days, one will never fit it all in surely!? And, that’s before we even dare think about the alcohol consuming that simply must be done. Well, look no farther, your problem is solved. Now, it may be physically impossible to see and do absolutely everything at Electric Picnic, but you can pick and choose what and who you want to see before you arrive, or just go with the flow when you get there and set up camp.

To give you a taste of what Electric Picnic is all about, every week,I’ll be giving a sneak of something different that will be on offer, whether it be a musician or band, interactive art installations, or simply some scrumptious food stalls that will be feeding the hungry festival goers all weekend long!

Stay tuned for the countdown to Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival; Electric Picnic.
